CSIR NET Admit Card 2023: Important Dates & Exam Pattern

CSIR NET Admit Card 2023: The NTA is soon going to release the CSIR NET Admit Card for December 2023 session which is scheduled to be conducted from December 26 to 28, 2023. The NTA will publish the CSIR NET City Intimation on the official website – csirnet.nta.ac.in. CSIR NET Admit Card 2023 will be released by the authority on the official website one week before the exam date. The CSIR NET 2023 exam is scheduled to be conducted from December 26 to 28, 2023. 

The NTA activated the CSIR NET Application Form Correction 2023 Window from December 6 to 8, 2023. CSIR NET Application Form 2023 was accepted by NTA from November 1 to December 4, 2023. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the CSIR NET Notification for December 2023 session on November 1, 2023. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct the CSIR UGC NET exam to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS) in Indian universities and colleges.There are five papers in CSIR NET 2023 Exam – Mathematical Science, Life Science, Chemical Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. The CSIR NET exam is held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. What is the CSIR NET Exam?

The CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) NET (National Eligibility Test) is a national-level examination in India held to determine the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for determining eligibility for Lectureship (LS) in the field of Science and Technology. The selected candidates can pursue Research, Ph.D or work as an Assistant Professor in a University.

CSIR NET is conducted twice a year, usually in June and December. The examination is conducted in five subjects – Chemical Science, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences & Physical Sciences.

Eligibility The general Eligibility Requirement for the CSIR NET Exam is-

  • Educational Qualifications:
  • For JRF: M.Sc. or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates. A relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  • For LS: Same as for JRF.

 

Age Limit:

  • For JRF: The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years as of the closing date of the online submission of the application. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for SC/ST/PwD/female candidates and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates.
  • For LS: No upper age limit for Lectureship.

 

CSIR NET Syllabus: Part A

  • Numerical Ability- Number and Simplification; Average; Quadratic Equations; Sequence and Series; Surd and Indices; Logarithms; Percentage; Profit and Loss; Simple Interest & Compound Interest; Partnership; LCM and HCF; Probability; Mensuration.
  • Reasoning- Series Formation; Ranking and Arrangement; Puzzles; Coding-Decoding; Distance and Directions; Calendar and Clock, etc.
  • Data Interpretation and Graphical Analysis- Mean, Median & Mode; Measures of Dispersion; Graphical Analysis: Bar Graph, Line Graph; Pie-Chart; Tabulation.

CSIR NET Syllabus: Part B & C

  • Chemical Sciences- Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Interdisciplinary topics, etc.
  • Earth Sciences- Geology, Applied Geology, Physical Geography, Geophysics, Meteorology, Ocean Sciences, etc.
  • Life Sciences- Molecules and their Interaction, Cellular Organization, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Life Forms, Cell Communication and Cell Signalling, Ecological Principles, etc.
  • Mathematical Sciences- Analysis Linear Algebra, Complex Analysis Algebra, Topology, Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), Numerical Analysis, Calculus of Variations, Linear Integral Equations, Classical Mechanics, Statistics, Exploratory Data Analysis, etc.
  • Physical Sciences- Mathematical Methods of Physics, Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetic Theory, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamic and Statistical Physics, Electronics and Experimental Methods, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, etc.
