How to remember what you study
Here are some of my effective tips to remember what you study. This can be helpful to a school going student, to a college going student, to an aspirant preparing for any type of competitive exam.
Quality study – Students must study what is actually required as per exam perspective, it is important to remember that quality study should be practiced instead of quantity studying which ultimately leads to cluttering unwanted information in the head and creating confusion.
Study at your peak time – It is heard very often that a student must study in the early hours of the day to score well enough. But it is different for all the students, while some study in the morning, some in the evenings and some at nighttime. So it is necessary to know what time suits you and at what time the activity of your brain is at its peak. Study only at the time that fits you.
Revision & Recalling – Scientifically it has been proven that revising something three times can help the information stay forever in our memory. It is advisable to revise once a day, once in a week and then once in a month.
Solving questions – Solving a lot of questions on the topics you learn not only helps clear your concepts but also helps in acing the topic very well. That way a student practically applies the theory and leaves no doubts behind.
Taking sufficient breaks – It is scientifically proven that taking breaks while studying can improve the efficiency of your brain instantly. It is proven in research that a human brain can concentrate for around 45 minutes before needing a 10-15 minutes break. So make it a point to take breaks/ naps while studying.
Regular study – Usually students tend to study a week or a night before the exam and this can be really tiring for the brain to imbibe in a lot of information at once. So, studying with consistency throughout the year can help a student remember what he/she has learned.
