GATE Eligibility Criteria 2025

GATE 2025 has established detailed and inclusive eligibility criteria to accommodate candidates from diverse academic backgrounds. Below is a comprehensive outline:
B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm.: Candidates currently in the third year or higher of their bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./Diploma) are eligible to apply.
B.Arch.: Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (5-year course), Naval Architecture (4-year course), or Planning (4-year course) in the third year or beyond are eligible.
B.Sc. (Research)/B.S.: Candidates with a 4-year degree in Science (Post-Diploma or after 10+2) in their third year or higher can participate.
Pharm.D. (after 10+2): Those enrolled in the 3rd to 6th year of the 6-year degree program are eligible.
M.B.B.S./B.D.S./B.V.Sc.: Students in the fifth semester or higher, or degree holders in these programs, can apply.
M.Sc./M.A./M.C.A. or Equivalent: Postgraduate candidates in branches of Arts, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Applications can participate.
Integrated Programs: Students in dual degree or integrated master’s programs in engineering, technology, or science are eligible based on their year of study.
Professional Society Examinations: Candidates who have completed equivalent programs recognized by AICTE or UPSC are also eligible.
